My Response for this claim consists of my personal writtings and the footnotes descriptions of the Holy Verses from my Holy Quran, which was translated by Sheik (Minister) Abdallah Yusuf Ali.

Anti-Islamic claim:  17.Was Jonah cast on the desert shore or was he not? "Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick" [37:145] "Had not Grace from his Lord reached him, he would indeed have been cast off on the naked shore while he was reprobate." [68:49]

My Response:   Let us look at Noble Verse 37:145-146 "But We cast him forth On the naked shore In a state of sickness, and We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the Groud kind,"

Let us look at Noble Verse 68:49 "Had not Grace from his Lord reached him, he would indeed have been cast off on
the naked shore, in disgrace."

There is no contradiction in the Noble Verses above.

In Noble Verse 37:145-146 above, Jonah was in a strange situation which have caused him to be ill.  He wanted fresh air and solitude.   He got both in the open plain, and the abundantly shady Gourd Plant or some fruitful tree like it gave him both shade and sustenance.  The Groud is a creeper that can spread over any roof or ruined structure.  Look at Noble Verse 37:89 "And he (Jonah) said, 'I am indeed sick (at heart)!'".

In Noble Verse 68:49 above, If Allah Almighty did not cause to grow a spreading plant of the Groud kind over Jonah "Had not Grace from his Lord reached him...(68:49)", then Jonah would have been in a disgraceful situation.
