1-  The Noble Quran Search Software:

ATTENTION WINDOWS XP USERS:

Due to a Microsoft problem, my software does not work with the advanced Windows XP versions.  I built it on the Windows 95 Operating System using my old PC, and unfortunately, it only works with the first version of Windows XP and doesn't work with the later ones.  I am not sure if my software works on Windows 2000 and Windows ME, but I know it works well on:

  1. Windows 95
  2. Windows 98
  3. The first version of Windows XP

I am currently in the process of rewriting my software.  I apologize for this ridiculous Microsoft problem.  None of this is my fault.  But since I am dedicated to spreading Islam to Mankind, then I will do my best to rewrite the software and finish it as soon as possible, insha'Allah (if Allah Almighty is Willing).

Anyway, for those who want to download the software:

*** Please read the instructions below for how to install the software after you finish the download.

Download my Offline Quran Search Software.  (9.09 megabytes).   My software allows either Noble Verses' references or advanced text string search.  You can view the results and you can export them to a text file.

After the Download:  When you finish downloading the "qs.exe" file, run it by double clicking on it.  Unzip the files to the given directory to you by the program "c:\quransearch\".  A set of directories will be created inside this directory.   Run the "c:\quransearch\disk1\setup.exe" program by double clicking on it.  It will prompt you to and suggest that you store the program in the "c:\quransearch" directory.  When you finish installing the software, run the "c:\quransearch\quransearch.exe" file to start the Quran Search Program.  In your Window's Desktop Programs (click on "Start", then "Programs" or "All Programs"), you should be able to see the "Noble Quran Search" group.  You can also run the program from there.

See screen shots of the software.

After the installation:

In your windows Desktop's Programs' "Noble Quran Search" group, the icon book_icon.jpg (1176 bytes) should be displayed.  If you don't see it, then open the group, and highlight the "Noble Quran Search" program, right click on it and choose "properties" as shown below:

properties_image.jpg (31448 bytes)

Left-mouse click on the highlighted "properties" option above.   The following window will be opened:

properties_window.jpg (33392 bytes)

Click on "Change Icon" push button.  The following window will be opened:

icon_image.jpg (16624 bytes)

Click "Ok".  The window will disappear.  Then click on the "Apply" button as shown below, and the image will be attached to the program:

apply_image.jpg (34316 bytes)

Click "OK" to close the window.

2-  My Web Site's HTML Files:

Download my Web Site's HTML files.  (13.0 megabytes).  Includes all of the files up to 09/26/2005 in the "What's new on this site" page.  Run the self-extracting executable file and unzip all of the files in the "C:\Answering Christianity\" default directory.  The site's main page is "ac.htm".

Download my Web Site's IMAGE files.  (15.0 megabytes).  Make sure that you unzip them in the same directory that the HTML files are in, or else, they won't get displayed.   You will be prompted to copy them to "C:\Answering Christianity\".

Download my Web Site's MEDIA files.  (68.0 megabytes).  Make sure that you unzip them in the same directory that the HTML files are in, or else, they won't be played.   You will be prompted to copy them to "C:\Answering Christianity\".

Download my Web Site's ISLAMIC PRAYER files.  (2.3 megabytes).  While it is not mandatory that they must reside in the same directory that the site's HTML files are in, but I highly recommend that you copy them in the same directory and in their specific "prayer" sub-directory.  You will be prompted to copy them to "C:\Answering Christianity\prayer\".  The sub-directory's main page is "intro.htm".

*To do a word search for the files, use your Windows Operating System's "Find Files and Folders" utility by clicking on "Start" from your Window's status bar, and then "Find", and then "Files and Folders".  In the "Look in:" text filed, type "C:\Answering Christianity\" without the double quotes if you left "C:\Answering Christianity\" to be your default directory when you unzipped the files after the download.  If you changed the directory on the unzipping of the files after your download, then enter that directory.  Now, in the "Advanced" tab, and in the "Containing text:" text field, enter your word or string of words to be searched, and then click the "Find Now" button.

Note: in the "Containing text:" text field, if you wish to search for existence of multiple words in a page, then type them separated by a comma.  For instance, if you type "Jesus, Mary" without the double quotes, then the search utility will search each page for the occurrence of "Jesus" and then "Mary".

See screen shots for the search.
