HADITH #2: CLAIM THAT 9:128-129 WERE “FRAUDULENTLY
ADDED” TO THE QURAN

What is
Rashad Khalifa’s authority for this startling claim?
Once again,
Rashad Khalifa relies on EXTRA-QURANIC authority of two types:
In his
“Appendix 24,” Rashad Khalifa writes:
“Nineteen years
after the Prophet Muhammad's death, during the reign of Khalifa `Uthman, a committee of
scribes was appointed to make several copies of the Quran to be dispatched to the new
Muslim lands. . . .
“This committee was supervised by `Uthman Ibn `Affaan, `Ali Ibn Abi Taaleb, Zeid Ibn Thaabet, Ubayy Ibn Ka`ab, `Abdullah Ibn Al-Zubair, Sa`eed Ibn Al-`Aas, and `Abdul Rahman Ibn Al-Haareth Ibn Heshaam. . . .
“The committee of
scribes finally came to Sura 9, and put it in its proper place. ONE OF THE SCRIBES
SUGGESTED ADDING A COUPLE OF VERSES TO HONOR THE PROPHET. THE MAJORITY OF SCRIBES AGREED.
`ALI WAS OUTRAGED. . . .
“Ali's protest is
documented in many references, but I cite and reproduce here the classic reference AL

“Translation: `Ali was asked: ‘Why are you staying home?’ He said, ‘Something has been added to the Quran, and I have pledged never to put on my street clothes, except for the prayer, until the Quran is restored.””

Rashad
Khalifa then slanders the Shia by implying that belief in the falsity of 9:128-129 is a tenet of Shia belief and was a
major cause of the Sunni-Shia division:
“The horrendous
dimensions of this crime can be realized once we look at the consequences:
(1) `Uthman was
assassinated, and `Ali was installed as the fourth Khalifa.
(2) A 50-year war erupted
between the new Khalifa and his supporters on one side, and the Mohammedan distorters of
the Quran on the other side.
(3) `Ali was martyred,
and eventually his family, the prophet Muhammad's family, except for some women and
children, were killed.
(4) The disaster
culminated in the infamous Battle of Karbala, where `Ali's son, Hussein, and his family
were massacred. . . .”

is PURE PROPAGANGA!
In the past
1400 years, NO ONE EXCEPT RASHAD KHALIFA AND HIS FOLLOWERS has attributed the deaths of
Uthman, Ali and Hussein to a dispute over
verses
9:128-129!
Indeed, the
Shia are adamant in DENYING that there have been ANY fraudulent additions to the Quran!
The
completeness of Quran is so indisputable among Shia that the greatest scholar of Shia in
Hadith, Abu Jafar Muhammad Ibn Ali Ibn al-Husain Ibn Babwayh, known as "Shaykh
Saduq" (309/919-381/991), wrote: “OUR BELIEF IS THAT
THE QURAN WHICH ALLAH REVEALED TO HIS PROPHET MUHAMMAD IS (THE SAME AS) THE ONE BETWEEN
THE TWO COVERS (DAFFATAYN). AND IT IS THE ONE WHICH IS IN THE HANDS OF THE PEOPLE, and is
not greater in extent than that. . . ..”

Another
prominent Shia scholar is Allama Muhammad Ridha Mudhaffar who wrote in his Shia Creed book
that: ‘We believe that the Holy Quran is revealed by Allah through the Holy Prophet
of Islam dealing with every thing which is necessary for the guidance of mankind. It is an
everlasting miracle of the Holy Prophet the like of which can not be produced by human
mind. It excels in its eloquence, clarity, truth and knowledge. THIS DIVINE BOOK HAS NOT
BEEN TAMPERED WITH BY ANY ONE. THIS HOLY BOOK WHICH WE RECITE TODAY IS THE SAME HOLY QURAN
WHICH WAS REVEALED TO THE HOLY PROPHET. Any one who claims it to be otherwise is an
evil-doer, a mere sophist, or else he is
sadly mistaken. All of those who have this line of thinking have gone astray as Allah in Quran said: "Falsehood can not reach the Quran from any direction (41:42)"

Thus, the
alleged “hadith” of Ali on which
Rashad Khalifa relies is an OBVIOUS FRAUD - having no support even among the Shia - the
“party” of Ali!
Rashad
Khalifa claims that the his “19” code PROVES that 9:128-129 were falsely added
to the Quran:
“A superhuman mathematical system pervades the Quran and serves to guard and authenticate every element in it. . . . ..The evidence presented in this Appendix incontro-vertibly removes these human injections, restores the Quran to its pristine purity, and illustrates a major function of the mathematical miracle, namely, to protect the Quran from the slightest tampering. Thus, the code rejects ONLY the false injections 9:128-129.”

Unfortunately,
for Rashad Khalifa “the numbers don’t even add up!”
Incredibly,
Rashad Khalifa issued TWO DIFFERENT EDITIONS of the Quran - one WITH VERSES 9:128-129 and
one WITHOUT - and claimed that BOTH had been “authenticated” by his
“19” formula!

In this SECOND Publication the Surah 9 ends with verse 127. The verses number 128 and 129 are expunged. In his commentary below Rashad Khalifa declares them as the false verses.

counts for the word "Allah" in the Qur'an to be the
same as before i.e. 2698.
“ALTHOUGH RASHAD HAD
DELETED TWO VERSES AND WITHIN THOSE TWO VERSES THERE WAS THE WORD "ALLAH" AS SEEN IN THE EARLIER
SCANNED IMAGE, HE KEPT THE COUNT SAME AS BEFORE!!!
“IS THIS NOT A

question is UNANSWERABLE.
Moreover, the fraudulent “numbers games” that Rashad Khalifa plays to justify deletion of verses 9:128-129, merely prove that the deletion is purely a product of AHADITH - including numerological ahadith fabricated by Rashad Khalifa himself!
