My rebuttal to Jochen Katz' "The Qur'an and the flight of birds" article:

1- The Divine Claim in Noble Verse 16:79:
Jochen Katz in his article claimed that Noble Verse 16:79 contains some "scientific errors" regarding the birds' ability to fly. Let us examine the Noble Verse in good details. Below we'll see that the Arabic Word could also mean that Allah Almighty Special-Designed the birds to enabled the them to fly in the air as ships float in the sea.
Allah Almighty Said:
"Do they not look at the birds, held poised (musakhakharatin) in the midst of (the air and) the sky? Nothing holds them up but (the power of) God. Verily in this are signs for those who believe. (The Noble Quran, 16:79)"
It is often claimed by Muslims that the non-Arabic translations of the Noble Quran does the Holy Book no justice! This Noble Verse is a good example of that.
The Arabic key word here that we must look at is musakhkharatin or musakhkharat. The word is derived from the root word "sakhkhara", which means:
Let us look at few examples where the root word "sakhkhara" was used in the Noble Quran:
"It is He Who has made (sakhkhara) the sea subject, that ye may eat thereof flesh that is fresh and tender, and that ye may extract therefrom ornaments to wear; and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the bounty of God and that ye may be grateful. (The Noble Quran, 16:14)"
"Seest thou not that God has made (sakhkhara) subject to you (men) all that is on the earth, and the ships that sail through the sea by His Command? He withholds the sky (rain) from failing on the earth except by His leave: for God is Most Kind and Most Merciful to man. (The Noble Quran, 22:65)"
"Do ye not see that God has subjected to your (use) (sakhkhara) all things in the heavens and on earth, and has made his bounties flow to you in exceeding measure, (both) seen and unseen? Yet there are among men those who dispute about God, without knowledge and without guidance, and without a Book to enlighten them! (The Noble Quran, 31:20)"
"In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected (sakhkhara) these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), (The Noble Quran, 43:13)"
"It is God Who has subjected (sakhkhara) the sea to you, that ships may sail through it by His command, that ye may seek of his Bounty, and that ye may be grateful. (The Noble Quran, 45:12)"
As the reader clearly sees, the root word "sakhkhara" was used for
subjecting things for us humans. The creations that GOD Almighty talked
about in the above Noble Verses were all put under our service so that we may use them as
freely as we wish without restrictions.
The Noble Verse in question, "Do they not look at the birds, held poised (musakhakharatin) in the midst of (the air and) the sky? Nothing holds them up but (the power of) God. Verily in this are signs for those who believe. (The Noble Quran, 16:79)", is not talking about a Scientific Miracle in the Noble Quran, because everyone during Prophet Muhammad's, peace be upon him, time knew that birds fly, and they were special-designed to fly. The Noble Verse was rather speaking about the Glory of GOD Almighty and how Miraculous it is indeed to have birds fly on their own.
The Arabic Word in Noble Verse 16:79 really means "dedicated" or "Designed it specifically for"; that GOD Almighty dedicated the birds for flying as a Sign for the Believers about the existence of GOD Almighty.
There is clearly no scientific error in the Noble Verse!
The reason there is no scientific error is because Allah Almighty said the same thing about dedicating the sea for our ships as I already mentioned above:
"It is God Who has subjected (sakhkhara) the sea to you, that ships may sail through it by His command, that ye may seek of his Bounty, and that ye may be grateful. (The Noble Quran, 45:12)"
Everyone back then knew that wood was the only thing perfect for building ships to enable them to float on water. Yet, we see Allah Almighty Saying that He subjected the sea for our ships to float on.
There is no question that Noble Verse 16:79 is a Metaphoric and Symbolic One.
Otherwise, explain why Allah Almighty used the same Word for ships and seas.

What Allah Almighty is Saying here is that when
Galaxies explode, they form a red-rose-shaped explosion. He
is also telling us that the Universe will all turn into red exploded galaxies
looking like red or reddish roses when the Day of Judgement
happens.
In the Arabic Noble Verse, "wardatan"
was translated as "ROSY"
above. The root word "WARDA" in
Arabic LITERALLY means "ROSE" or "FLOWER".
The "tan" at the end of "wardatan" is not part
of the word. It is only an Arabic PUNCTUATION that only changes the sound of the
word for grammatical rules. It is pronounced as "ten",
with the "a" being short. The reason why the above word was not written as
"wardaten" is because in many parts of the world, the English word
"ten" (number 10) is pronounced as "tin". Only the
American-English pronounce the "e" as a short "a". Most of the
world uses the British-English system and they pronounce the "e" as
"i", and the "o" as it is, such as "stop" pronounced as
"stope". The American-English pronounces the "o" as a thick
"a". Also, if we were to add two Arabic characters,
"alif" and "noon" at the end of "warda", it would change
the pronunciation to "taan" (wardataan), and it then
becomes two "wardas"; plural.

Also, your original scriptures are all doubtful according to the Bible's own theologians and historians. It's quite hilarious that even the Bible itself admits that it has been tampered with and corrupted by man's garbage:
"`How can you say, "We [the Jews] are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?' (From the NIV Bible, Jeremiah 8:8)"
The Revised Standard Version makes it even clearer: "How can you say, 'We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us'?

It is quite obvious that Christians today believe in third party authors' words as the words of GOD. This is a very serious corruption in the Bible that must be taken into deep consideration by the Bible's followers. As we've seen above, Noble Verse 16:79 did not contain any scientific errors in it what so ever, because the same Noble Word, "sakhkhara", was used for the seas and ships in Noble Verse 45:12 and in the other Noble Verses that I presented above as well, which clearly proves that Allah Almighty was rather speaking to those who ponder and wonder about how beautiful His Creation and Design is and how He Subjected some of His creations for the service of other creations.
The Noble Verse was not speaking about aerodynamics, even though as we clearly saw above, the Arabic Word could also mean that Allah Almighty Special-Designed the birds to enabled them to fly in the air as ships float in the sea. The Noble Verse was rather speaking about the Glory and the unquestionable existence of GOD Almighty; something that is very difficult for the polytheist trinitarian pagans and the far eastern pagans to fully comprehend, because they have to defile GOD Almighty's Absoluteness and Oneness with man-made gods such as jesus and idols.
